The Golden Dragon Lake Business Area is located in Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone with an area of 30,000 acres. The master planning of the area was completed by Atkins. As the team leader, Dr. Xiaoming Liu won the competition of 495-acre commercial real estate planning and designed its 136-acre core landscape in 2007. The area was realized in 5 years. The idea of the landscaping was to create a 62-acre lake as a central, eco-friendly core   linked to waterways around. The tremendous success of the project helped the administration to attract huge investors to build offices, the 5-star-hotel, banks, shops, apartments, plants and facilities. The project has worked as a key engine for the whole development zone, now a tourist attraction as well.
